There’s nothing better than being able to relax with a nice cup of masala chai! The heavenly aroma of cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and milk wafting through the air automatically puts me in a good mood.
I love Starbucks chai tea as much as the next, but lets face it it’s not actually chai. I know, I know, sacrilege. I’ll try to avoid my rant about the Americanization of Indian cuisine and stick to the facts. The first fact being that you should never go to India and order a chai tea, as you’ll be ordering a tea tea. Second, masala chai is aromatic, sweet, creamy amazingness.
Growing up I hated chai, I couldn’t understand how the adults drank cup after cup, when there was soda to be had. Needless to say, I now get it. Whether I’m coming in from the cold, having had a long and tiring day at work, or just sitting on the couch on a lazy Sunday afternoon, nothing relaxes me more than holding a warm cup of masala chai between my hands, whilst nibbling on cookies, Almond Cardamom Sponge Cake , or a savory pastry.
So incredibly fast and easy to make. You literally just throw the ingredients in the pot and it comes together to make you a fabulous cup of tea. The aromatic flavors coupled with the thick creamy milk are incredible.
