Besan is commonly known as gram flour or chick pea flour. It’s stone ground from rich and hearty whole garbanzo beans.

Besan is high in fiber and protein. It’s a popular ingredient for gluten free and vegan cooking. It lends a nutty taste to breads, sauces and other foods. Gram flour is a healthy and versatile alternative to complement recipes dishes and recipes. It provides a beneficial source of protein and fiber with 21 grams of protein per serving and 10 grams of dietary fiber per serving. Per serving, gram flour also provides 25% of the daily iron intake recommendation.

It’s perfect for batters or even as an ingredient. In Punjabi cuisine we use it for pakoras, pudas, and kadhi.
