Mango Shake

Sweet, creamy, and mangoey! Mango shake is perfect for summers. It’s fast to make and incredibly tasty!

Summer means mangoes in India. Which means mango cakes, pastries, shakes, candies, barfi, the fruit itself, and so on. We’ll put mango in anything we can. Mango shake aside from a light and fluffy mango cake may be the best use of the fruit. Mango shake is fruity, cooling, flavorful, and like summer in a glass! With just how much milk and fruit there is it’s incredibly filling, so it’s quite normal to call it a meal and go on with the afternoon.

This recipe is SO incredibly easy and fast. 10 minutes and you have an amazing fruit shake. You can jazz it up with some mint or cardamom, if you’d like. Or anything else for that matter that strikes your fancy. It’s just so amazingly tasty on it’s own that you rarely need anything else. A little mango shake on the deck watching the world go by. Such a lovely way to spend an afternoon.

Growing up we drank this nearly every other day. It’s just so scrumptious. Not to mention cooling in the insane heat. I struggle with wanting to eat when it’s really hot, so this is a great alternative to food. It’s healthy and filling. Plus, in India until fairly recently you couldn’t really go out and find a salad or sandwich shop, so summer food options were limited when looking for colder options.

If you’re more inclined towards lassi, there’s always mango lassi, but for my money, the shake is so much richer and flavorful.
